Little Free Library

Little Free Library is a non-profit organization that promotes literacy.  A fantastic idea that has spread quite quickly across America, and recently appeared in Brazil.  In 2011 there were 100 libraries. As of April 2013, there are over 6,000. Do the math – that’s about 2 million books shared. They aim to have 25,000 libraries by the end of the year and at the time of writing it hasn’t quite reached the UK yet.

If you’ve seen my #CuratedBookshelf campaign then you’ll know I have a thing for books; of how they can inspire that ‘Tipping Point’ and how they are known catalysts for individuals who cross the chasm from one reality to the next.

I found this Little Free Library idea while doing research for that campaign and I so dig it.
Now that I’ve found a few hours’ breathing space, I’ve decided to build it…Please read my blog and share the thinking: Reading is fundamental :: Little Free Library Project.
